No…not my leather aviation jacket
Today, I am releasing clothes that I do not love…including my dri-a-bone jacket I got when I was in Australia in 1994 and my leather “bomber” aviation jacket I got my freshman year in college!
I am reminding myself that the jackets don’t bring me memories…I have them in my heart! Now I can release them and bless someone else. There is someone who is looking for this jacket and it will bring them happiness…who am I to keep that bottled up in my closet?
I went through all my clothes and have one large bag full to be donated. Then I created a detailed list of about 10 items to fill in the gap. There is one small tote of pieces (about 20) that I will pull out and retry once I’ve “release” 10 pounds on or before July 15, 2012 . But I only put pieces that I really liked and look forward to wearing again in the tote.
Now I look forward to rewarding myself on July 15th by pulling these out and seeing them all look good on me.
I’m running a 1/2 marathon – Oh wait…
In January some friends of mine mentioned they wanted to run a 1/2 marathon. It’s something they have always wanted to do. It was a goal they wanted to reach before turning 40. They were excited about it so I jumped in and said “I’ll do it with you guys!” I’ve ran a few 5K’s with my son and survived. I’ve been looking for something to ramp up my exercise to so I can be healthy and fit. So we all toasted each other and made our plans.
I started training, doing runs, bought new sneakers, read up on training programs…and I dreaded every minute of it. I kept at it though…thinking when I am able to run 3 miles at once, I’ll feel better. Or I just need different music. Or I once it gets warm, I can run outside. I kept at it, but I really really really HATED IT!
One day I was sharing my story with a friend who said to me…“it doesn’t have to be so hard”
At first I thought…yeah whatever…of course it’s hard…it’s a 1/2 marathon. You don’t run 13 miles without it being hard…
I kept at it…and kept thinking why is this so hard? A few months later, I realized the answer…
I was “running” (no pun intended) down the wrong path.
See, the goal of running a 1/2 marathon was my friends goal not mine. My goal was to get healthy and fit…and have fun while doing it. I had no desire to run, nor a desire to complete a marathon, they did!
But what I have ALWAYS wanted to do is martial arts. I just LOVE the idea of punching, kicking and being able to defend myself if needed. I can SEE myself doing this, I can FEEL how it will be to be strong, flexible and able to defend myself (and my kids) and to me, it’s FUN!
My children have already been taking classes for 3 years so I knew exactly where to go. I made adjustments to my schedule and am now going 4 times a week to the Dojo. The classes are challenging and “hard.” I’m soaked by the time I am done with the class and the next day I’m sore. Every class I attend I’m getting closer to my goal of being healthy and fit.
To my marathon running friends, I love you and will cheer you on all the way. And I’ll be at the finish line ready to celebrate with you. Our end results will be the same…we will all be healthy and fit…you’ll have your running shoes on and I’ll be wearing my black belt!
When you love what you do, It’s not hard!
Expect Success,

I won $656 million!
Do I have your attention? And no I didn’t actually win the Mega Millions Lotto Jackpot on 3/30/12. It was the largest in history.
But what was the best part is I saw so many people posting about DREAMS and what they would do WITH the money. We heard things like…
- Quit their job
- Pay off mortgage
- Pay off credit cards and school loans
- Golf, take a vacation and get a 2nd home
- Buy that dream sports car
- Donate to charity
- I even heard someone say he would take 10 of his friends up into space!
The thing is…Every day is a lottery. You have the power within you to be a winner EVERYDAY!
- You are a WINNER simply being alive and the PRIZE is each day.
- Choose your work or profession you want NOW and do what it takes to THRIVE not just survive.
- Earn the money you need to live in Financial Freedom, not to just pay your bills.
- Spend more TIME with those you love.
- GIVE to others and you will receive more in return.
The odds of winning the Mega Millions jackpot were 1 in 176 million. The odds of winning YOUR jackpot in your life? 100% when you play the game of YOUR life EVERY day simply by the choices we make every day.
What choices are you going to make today? Are you going to put your fate into 7 balls that pop of a machine or are you going to put fate into your own hands and make good choices? While money doesn’t buy you happiness, it does buy you choices in life…
I choose to make my own winnings…

Normal is NOT for me!
Someone asked me the other day, when I was going to get a “normal job” So I am dedicating this post to those who believe I am not NORMAL…
I am NOT Normal…But I do have…
- a business that allows me to work around my family and other obligations and not the other way around.
- a home office and my commute is about 30 seconds from the Kitchen.
- downtime when I read, listen to music or go for a walk. (instead of watching tv)
- people I work with and do not dread going to work.
- financial security to be able to pay my bills each month (and put money into savings)
- mentally stimulation to grow myself, my business and help others do the same
- a career where I get paid for sharing what I love to do.
- a love for Mondays as much as Fridays.
So Nope…I do not have a normal, traditional style job or business…but I am successful and living the life I dream of!
