Why did you walk into weight watchers?

Often times when we have an interested prospect, we rush them to the information without finding out WHY they are interested. Let’s compare this to someone who wants to lose weight.

Why do people walk into weight watchers? The obvious answer is they want to lose weight. But WHY do they want to lose weight?

Think about it. This person didn’t become overweight last night or even last week. In fact most people have been overweight for months or years before walking into weight watchers. In most cases (and there are always exceptions to the rule) SOMETHING HAPPENED in that persons life. That something made them take action. They are now READY!

Maybe they had a bad report from the doctor
Maybe a friend or college died or became ill
Maybe a child walked up to them and asked, why are you so fat?
Maybe they tried to find a new dress or suit to wear at an upcoming event

Whatever the reason…that is their WHY! Their WHY is going to keep them motivated when it gets tough. Their why is going to help them make good food choices. Their why is going to keep them on the treadmill for 15 more minutes without quitting.

Being in our industry of network marketing, our business is the same way! When talking with a prospect help them discover their why. SOMETHING happened in their lives that made them take action into looking for a way to earn income, start their own business or promote the products your company sells. Find out their WHY and the rest falls into place.

For me…it was the day I opened my checking account to see I had 16 cents (YES CENTS) in my account and payday was 4 days away. I had to tell my 3 kids that we didn’t even have enough money to buy milk to have with the cereal I did have! We survived the week (and ate lots of strange things that were in the cupboard!!) but I vowed that I will not be in this situation again. That was the day I took charge…

What is your why that makes you cry?
